Sessional Instructors – Faculty of Education (Summer 2021)

The Faculty of Education at the University of Prince Edward Island has openings for sessional instructors to teach the following course in summer 2021.

ED 6140-39 THEORIES OF RESEARCH AND LEARNING

In this course, students address the role of theory in educational research. The aim is to familiarize graduate students with various theoretical frameworks including theories and principles of learning.

This is a three semester-hour course offered online to students in the MEd Focus on 21st Century Teaching & Learning (Online) from July 5 to August 13, 2021.

ED 6140-45 THEORIES OF RESEARCH AND LEARNING

In this course, students address the role of theory in educational research. The aim is to familiarize graduate students with various theoretical frameworks including theories and principles of learning.

This is a three semester-hour course offered on campus to students in the MEd Focus on Global Perspectives on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30am to 11:20am from May 17 to June 24.

Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will have a Masters of Education degree. Successful candidates will normally have school-based experience in a Canadian public K-12 system. For applicants without school-based experience, teaching in other contexts relevant and appropriate to the position will be considered. Where courses are offered on-line using multi-media technologies, applicants will normally be able to demonstrate successful on-line teaching experience. Candidates who do not have previous online teaching experience must be open to and willing to do extra training for this delivery model, and without additional compensation.

In addition, candidates applying to teach graduate courses will normally have established expertise, and successful leadership and/or teaching experience in a context related to the foci of the cohort.

In all instances, qualified applicants on the UPEI Sessional Roster of the Faculty of Education will be given priority.
