Position Summary
Under the direction of the Human Resources/Labour Relations Consultant and Human Resources Director, the Human Resources student provides administrative support and assistance essential to the functioning of the Human Resources Department; provides assistance & clerical support to the recruitment and selection function.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with various projects i.e. Labour Relations, Payroll, Scheduling, Occupational Health
  • Answering telephone and in-person inquiries
  • Assist with Recruitment and Selection process i.e. reference checks, draft postings
  • Sort and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and documents
  • Attends to filing on a daily basis

Essential Qualifications

  • Must be registered and attending a community College Business Program with a Major in Human Resources
  • Knowledge and experience working at Intermediate to advance Microsoft Office Suite computer skills and internet
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and communication including tact and diplomacy when responding to telephones, greeting visitors and attending meetings.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization and time management abilities to ensure that assignments are completed with deadlines and established time frames.
  • Other duties as assigned

Hours of Work
Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week)
