CHANCES Inc. is a community based non-profit organization offering a comprehensive continuum of programs across PEI for families and children from prenatal to age 11 years. With a specific focus on children and families experiencing additional life challenges, CHANCES offers a broad range of in-home visiting and centre-based programs including a Family Health Clinic, parenting sessions, high quality early learning and care as well as after school programs. CHANCES Inc. has a staff complement of approximately 200 full and part time employees who represent a variety of professional backgrounds. We are looking for an inspired leader for the following position:

Supervisor / Director- Murphy’s Centre

Reporting to the Early Years Coordinator, this position is responsible for the effective delivery of a high quality early learning and care program for children and parents/caregivers participating in a CHANCES licensed childcare centre that is moving toward receiving designation as an Early Years Centre. This includes providing oversight, as well as administrative tasks and responsibilities, and supervision and support to Early Childhood Educators. This position will require the successful candidate to work in ratio for as many hours as required based on enrollment numbers, with the goal to get the centre operating at full capacity in a timely manner.

As the ideal candidate, you have the following or an equivalent combination of education & experience:

Minimum 3 years of supervisory and/or management experience

Have, or can meet the requirements for certification as a Supervisor of an Early Years Centre in PEI

Knowledge of the PEI Early Learning Framework

Valid CPR and First Aid

Salary is based on the Provincial Pay Grid. The successful candidate will be paid at an ECE rate + 5% until such time as designation is received, after which the rate of pay will increase to that of Director. This position will be split between Director hours and Supervisor hours, based on child enrollment.
