Surveillance Shift Manager

Under the direction of the Surveillance Manager, the Surveillance Shift Manager is responsible for overseeing surveillance operations at site level on a shift basis. Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and assists in providing a learning environment while establishing and contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees. Above all, the Surveillance Shift Manager provides input on performance evaluations and assists with the implementation all new surveillance operations initiatives.

The ideal candidate is an energetic professional with proven knowledge, skills and abilities, executing the following in support of the company’s vision, mission and values:

Provide leadership and direction to the surveillance operation at the site level on a shift basis; provides input for employee performance objectives and evaluations.

Assist with the implementation of surveillance operation strategic plans.

Schedule and supervise team members; assign shift work assignments.

Monitor, document and report violations, large cash and cash equivalent transactions excluded and elf-excluded guests, and unauthorized access.

Maintain logs; updates records; stores records securely for evidence purposes.

Monitor, document and report on the condition of surveillance facilities and equipment; maintains a preventative maintenance schedule.

Review special investigation results or requests as directed; provides reporting.

Liaises and communicate effectively with all appropriate operational departments.

Develop and cultivate strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership and employees.

Ensure compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations.

Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

Successful applicants will demonstrate the following qualifications:

Minimum 5 years of surveillance and/or security experience; minimum 2 years supervisory experience; gaming experience preferred

Post-Secondary education in criminology or suitable combination of education and experience an asset

Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication

Keen eye for detail, with the ability to focus on monitors for long periods of time

Adherence to high standards, methods and procedures

Knowledge of the Gaming Control Act, AGCO & OLG Policies and Procedures

Ability to work in a team environment

Ability to successfully obtain a Category 1 Gaming Assistant license through the Alcohol & Gaming Commission of Ontario.
