A Manitoba Teacher’s Certificate, or eligibility for teacher certification in the Province of Manitoba.
A major/minor in second language acquisition, and a strong academic background.
Demonstrated ability to instruct English as an Additional Language learners at the senior years level.
Demonstrated ability in the differentiation of instruction and evaluation to meet the needs of all learners.
Demonstrated knowledge of second language methodologies.
Preference will be given to candidates who possess:
Previous successful senior years teaching experience.
Certification in English as an Additional Language.
Demonstrated ability and experience with English as an Additional Language learners.
Experience with “E” sheltered content area programming.
Language development experience for Stage 1, 2, and 3 learners.
Knowledge and understanding of teaching literacy through the curriculum.
Knowledge, skills and ability to infuse technology into the curriculum.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as an effective member of a team in delivery a quality program
Experience in Early Years Literacy and Numeracy (Grade1 to 4) and experience with newcomer populations
