As a Team Lead in the Records Processing Team (RPT), you will utilize your leadership capabilities to lead a team of 8 to 10 employees; managing staff and workloads. In this role, you will be responsible for liaising with and responding to inquiries from sworn and civilian personnel, and outside agencies. Primary duties include:
Schedule and assign tasks and work projects; monitor levels of service and production levels.
Identify training needs and provide appropriate coaching and mentorship to staff, with regards to: data entry requirements; monitoring and communicating quantitative and qualitative performance standards; maintaining staffing levels; counselling and conflict resolution; and conducting developmental and probationary reviews.
Interpret and communicate policies and procedures, and provide advice and instruction to staff on reporting requirements.
Prepare weekly operational and summary reports.
Complete various administrative duties, such as payroll, supply orders, and records retention/management.
Conduct and participate in meetings.
Participate in the recruitment and selection process, to maintain adequate staffing levels within the team.
Qualifications
A High School diploma or equivalency (e.g., GED)
Successful completion of job-related courses (i.e. leadership, performance management, supervision) with a minimum of 5 years of related experience that includes supervision; OR
A completed 1-year certificate in Management (or a related field), combined with a minimum of 3 years related experience, that includes supervision.
Previous experience with performance management, coaching and development, and appropriate handling of sensitive and confidential information will be considered an asset.
Previous experience working in a police environment will be considered an asset.
You are a results-focused individual, who demonstrates effective relationship building skills.
Success in this role requires excellent communication skills; efficiency; thorough and effective resource management skills; and the ability to collaborate with team members to achieve common goals.
