Technology Support Analyst

The salary range for this position is:
Recruitment range: $60,720 – $68,343 starting salary determined by the PEA Collective Agreement.

Performance range: starting salary to max of $79,374 is available through annual performance increases.

Job Summary

This position provides support to the faculty, staff and students of the Island Medical Program to support their use of audio/visual and VC facilities for teaching, administration and research. Job responsibilities will be carried out in more than one location, including the University of Victoria (Medical Sciences Building), Royal Jubilee Hospital and Victoria General Hospital. Additional travel may be required to support other installations within the Island Health Authority.

The position is part of the team responsible for the day-to-day operational readiness and the future development/redesign of instructional facilities. The Technology Support Analyst will participate in project management regarding the development of technology and the associated processes/policies in rolling out and maintaining said technologies at a local and provincial level through collaboration with other technology teams at other universities and health authorities.

The position will also be trained in the operation of the Simulation Centre. The incumbent will be able to provide backup coverage for this facility.

This is an “on-air” position. The incumbent must have the ability to monitor sessions while conducting other tasks. The environment can be demanding and stressful and the incumbent must be able to remain calm under pressure and re-prioritize tasks on an ad-hoc basis. This position may be required to work some evenings or weekends. Viewing of the Island Medical Program curriculum may cause some discomfort for those uninitiated to medical education.

Job Requirements

This position requires an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum of two year’s experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Formal training in audio-visual service plus industry training and credentials such as Cisco or Crestron Certification. Some project management experience will be an asset
