KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assists with operation of day camp program for children by leading and assisting in various activities including arts & crafts, music, sports and swimming
- Monitor children during their activities to ensure their safety
- Accompany children on field trips
- Set up before and clean up after activities as required
- Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- The successful candidate must meet the requirements under the Canada Summer Jobs Program
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusively) at the time of intake/selection
- Successful completion of grade 11 (completion of secondary school preferred)
- Experience working with children
- Ability to work patiently with people (including children) from difficult backgrounds
- Ability to protect confidentiality
- Ability to assist in children’s programs in the areas of arts & crafts, music, and/or sports
- Ability to understand and follow direction
- Ability to work with a team
- Effective written and verbal communication
- Must be comfortable working within a Christian church environment
Successful candidate will be required to provide upon hiring:
- A clear vulnerable sector screening
- A clear internal abuse registry check
- Participate in our online Armatus Abuse Training and Health and Safety training required upon hiring
HOURS: 32 hours per week. Tuesday – Friday 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
