Description
The Thrift Store Worker works under the direction of the Thrift Store Manager to provide exceptional customer service, merchandising, tidy maintenance of the warehouse, sorting donations, and creating a positive work environment.
HOURS:
- 32 hours per week, Monday-Saturday.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Contributes to meeting store sales budgets by maintaining customer service standards
- Implements store layout plans to attract customers including end caps and merchandise displays; ensure the attractiveness of the store through “Tidy Maintenance”
- Replenishes inventory levels based on Manager’s/Supervisor directions and sorting of donations
- Contributes to the control of inventory by retrieving, sorting, and pricing as per directions; protects the store from inventory losses by close visual monitoring
- Contributes to the safety of staff and customers (e.g. snow removal, clear fire exits, no obstacles inside / outside store, cleans spillage, and maintains store cleanliness)
- Takes responsibility for the accurate completion of all customer transactions including VISA, Master Card, Debit, Cash
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Certifications:
- The successful job applicant will have completed High School.
- NOTE: An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable.
Experience:
- More than three months of prior related experience.
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- The incumbent is required to lift more than 20 pounds.
- Flexibility and motivation to work within a team.
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
- CSA approved steel-toed work boots
Preferred Skills/Capabilities:
- WHMIS
- Standard First Aid
