Tel-Aide Montreal is a non-profit community organization created in Montreal by the community in 1971. Tel-Aide Montreal is a pioneer in the field of telephone listening centers in Quebec and wants to act as a leader both in practice and active listening training. Considered an essential service to the community and an important resource in the field of mental health prevention, Tel-Aide Montréal aims to relieve distress and break isolation, in addition to increasing the feeling of dignity and community solidarity.
Tel-Aide Montreal is looking for a trainer for a one-year contract to support the training and support committees. Under the authority of the general manager, in collaboration with the volunteer coordinator and the heads of the training and support committees, the trainer is responsible for standardizing active listening training as well as continuing education to volunteer listeners.
Main responsibilities:
Support the preparation and facilitation of training under its responsibility, prioritizing the English-speaking side, in collaboration with the heads of training and support committees and leading the training, if necessary
Ensure that French and English training content is standardized
Prepare the teaching material in English based on the material used in French.
Meet, evaluate and ensure follow-up of the participants according to the needs of the leaders of the training and support committees
Offer activities, conferences, podcasts to meet continuing education needs in collaboration with the training committees.
Write reports and other documents required by the functions.
Requirements:
Education level: University
Diploma: Bachelor’s degree completed
Year of experience: a minimum of 5 years in training
French written and spoken: Advanced
English spoken and spoken: Advanced
Required skills:
University degree in Adult Education or Human Resources Management
Ideally a member of a professional order
More than 5 years of training experience
Work experience in training in the community sector an asset
Ability to maintain harmonious interpersonal relationships
Collaborative spirit and ability to work in a team
Good adaptation capacity
Discretion and availability
The salary will be set according to the profile and experience of the person selected. The workplace is in Montreal. A proportion of the work can be done remotely and occasional trips to Greater Montreal may be required. The position is for a period of one year at a rate of 3 days per week; given the specifics of the position, the hours may vary, evenings and weekends from time to time.
