Description
This job exists to assist our Thrift Stores and Food Bank to achieve sales targets, and profitability so we may fund other programs in our Penticton Community. This role will be a Truck Driving position.
Hours:
- 37.5 Hours per week
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The incumbent will be required to undertake, with minimum supervision, a wide variety of activities related to the operation of the Thrift Stores and Food Bank.
- The incumbent will be required to pick up Food Bank donations.
- Collect in a timely fashion, and as directed by the Thrift Store and Food Bank
- Deliver Occasional Food Hampers.
- Load and off load all items collected or delivered.
- Take all non-conforming waste that does not fit in existing waste bins to landfill for proper disposal.
- Schedules Truck for deliveries.
- Answers telephone.
- Good Customer service skills.
- Undertake other, related and reasonable duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
- Remove and dispose of garbage in an appropriate manner.
- Refer people to local Salvation Army ministries as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Some High School
- Clean Drivers Abstract
- Will be required to update Abstract on a semi annual basis
Experience:
- 2-5 Years Experience Preferred
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Good Customer Service Skills an Asset
PREFERRED SKILLS/CAPABILITIES:
- Able represent The Salvation Army in a Positive manner in our Community.
Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:

- A clean drivers abstract
- Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
