Job Description:
Directs the efficient and cost-effective operation of the warehouse. Manages inbound activities related to the receipt and storage of goods, inventory management, and claims. Oversees outbound activities related to order-filling, stock replenishment, and shipping. Responsible for budgeting, customer service, facility and equipment operation. Responsible for personnel hiring, the fair and equitable administration of personnel policies and procedures, employee discipline, morale, development/training, and performance reviews per Husqvarna policy. Administers overall inventory management, productivity, accuracy, and loss prevention programs to ensure that customer requirements are met. Provide a safe and secure environment for associates and assets.

People management responsibilities include training, planning and assigning daily work, addressing performance issues and resolving problems.

Essential Duties:
- Provide for optimum level receiving and shipping efficiencies.
- Coordinates inbound and / or outbound activities.
- Develop facility layouts to maximize space utilization, productivity, and safety.
- Organizes and assigns work to utilize available skills, knowledge and experience, labor hours, machines and tools to the best advantages to obtain most favorable costs, accuracy, and completeness.
- Identify and implement new technologies and information systems as required
- Develops stock location and order picking strategies to optimize workflow, space utilization, and labor productivity in warehouse facilities.
- Organize, schedule, & staff warehouse to appropriate levels.
- Analysis of strategic and tactical processes and costs relating to warehouse operations.
- Implement safety, security, housekeeping, and sanitation programs.
- Provide information, analysis, and recommendations on overall warehouse operation.
- Preventative maintenance, safety, & security procedures to safeguard associates and company assets.
- Develop and maintain effective disaster recovery program for warehouse operations.
- Responsible for inventory including receiving finished goods, adjustments, put away, dispensing, and storage. Ensure all material is handled within prescribed procedures and check all materials for correct specifications.
- Analyzes and diagnoses machine problems and malfunctions to expedite and coordinate corrective procedures and to prevent excessive downtime and interrupted schedules.
- Maintains knowledge of warehouse computer system and required data entry.
- Ensure all cross-functional areas operate in a smooth and accurate fashion with the least amount of disruptions and communicate all goals and objectives to all team leaders within area.
- Responsible for reviewing processes and procedures on a regular basis to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
- Coach, train, develop and discipline employees to achieve facility goals and objectives
- Pro-actively use Lean tools to improve operating efficiency, reduce costs and improve quality and safety results
- Utilize accurate measurement tools to track area’s key indices to identify unfavorable trends and to take corrective action
- Review work upon completion as well as random spot checks for adherence to guidelines and standards and provide necessary feedback.
- Provide leadership by establishing clear expectations and demonstrating high standards of work practices.
- Recommend methods for improving associate efficiency and reducing waste of materials and utilities such as restructuring job duties, reorganizing workflow, relocating workstations and equipment, and purchase of equipment.
- Maintain and enhance existing safety policies and procedures for the distribution center operations.
- Continuously improve operations through the use of lean enterprise practices.
- Perform root cause analysis on receipt discrepancies by interacting with team members and other departments
- Ensure Key Performance Indicator (KPI) goals are set, maintained and tracked daily for improvements. KPIs include: production attainment and line utilization.
- Maintain high level of Quality, Customer Service, and regulatory compliance.
- Manage a safe work environment by advocating safety training, accident preparedness, and compliance with company, legal, and other standards and regulations. Ensures adherence to proper safety and sanitation regulations and the appropriate policies/procedures.
- Establish and maintain effective relationships with peers, team and senior management in order to communicate effectively and strategically implement solutions.
- Responsible for maintaining proper staffing levels, developing accountability in associates, and measuring results.
- Oversees 3PLs managing Husqvarna operations in alternate warehouses.
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree – Business Administration, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university and/or,
- 5-8 years of progressive responsibility in a distribution/warehouse environment.
Desired
- Previous supervisory experience.
