JOB PURPOSE:
The General Warehouse worker is to receive, sort, and pack donations for The Salvation Army which includes continuous standing, bending and lifting of up to 50 pounds. This is a busy position, the incumbent will be required to work efficiently and manage their time.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
– Receive gifts and clothing from various agencies and public.
– Sort clothing, furniture, and other stock responsibilities.
– Continuous standing, bending, and lifting.
– Lifting up to 50 pounds (with assistance)
– Occasional transport of product using a Salvation Army vehicle/cube van.
– Other job related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
QUALIFICATIONS:
– The applicant must be able to contribute as a team player, projecting a positive, professional, and helpful attitude.
– They must have ability to work independently and have the capability to systematically organize.
– The incumbent must be able to maintain confidentiality.
– Proven written and oral communication skills must be able to be demonstrated in daily interactions.
– Must have a Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
– A valid driver’s license and a clear driving record are required.
– The ability to model the values and standards of The Salvation Army.
NOTE: An alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable.
Working Conditions: Contract Position
40 hours per week
8:30am to 5:00pm $14.00 per hour
