The Opportunity

RVS invites applications for two continuing, full-time (35 hrs/wk) Wellness Coordinator positions starting immediately. As a member of the Human Resources department under the direction of the Director of HR, the Wellness Coordinator is responsible for disability management, return to work and wellness for RVS staff. The position is located at the Education Centre in Airdrie and will require a Valid Alberta Driver’s License as some travel may be required.

Responsibilities

Communicates with employees, supervisors, health care providers and insurers in a timely manner to follow up and ensure appropriate treatment plans are in place

Monitors all incoming medical documentation and claims related correspondence for appropriate direction and follow up

Communicates with employees, supervisors and stakeholders regarding medical updates, return to work plans, abilities, and restrictions

Monitors employee status for short and long-term disability and WCB, in a timely manner

Assists/guides internal and external clients with information regarding Rocky View Schools and external provider processes

Facilitates and assist in the planning of return-to-work accommodations for employees

Maintains a high level of integrity, confidentiality and business professionalism in dealing with all stakeholders

Initiates online disability claims, and electronic employee health files

Contributes to disability, return to work, and wellness practices as well as process improvements

Ongoing development, support and promotion of wellness programs

Education/Experience

Certificate or diploma in disability management or related field

Minimum of two (2) years performing a disability or return to work role

Experience in an educational setting would be an asset

Experience in an HR setting would be an asset

Experience in employee health and wellness would be an asset

A combination of education and experience may be considered
