We are currently recruiting for a Working Foreman – Construction to join our Public Works Division. Reporting to Sewer/Drainage Superintendent, you will provide supervisory and technical work in the organization and direction of a team engaged in Public Works Infrastructure Construction. Successful applicants will have considerable knowledge of underground operations and construction work, hazards and safety precautions applicable to the work as well as sound knowledge of operational and maintenance procedures. You will also possess the ability to plan, assign, review and supervise the work of a crew engaged in construction and maintenance tasks.

Applicants will have completed Grade 12 supplemented by technical courses related to the work, and have considerable Public Works Infrastructure Construction experience, some of which is in a supervisory capacity. You are envisioned as a team player with strong leadership, organizational and technical skills, as well as the communication and interpersonal capabilities necessary to interact successfully with a variety of stakeholders.

A CUPE hourly rate of $34.48 to $36.68 (2020 rates), plus a competitive benefits package and an earned day off program is being offered. Typical hours are Monday – Friday: 7:00am to 3:55pm.

Applicants under consideration will be required to undergo a police security clearance evaluation with no adverse reports. We will also require you to have a valid Class 3 BC Driver’s License with air brake endorsement by the end of the probation/trial period.
