The Yukon Chamber Of Commerce is looking to create a new office team. Our frontline representative(s) are the public face of the chamber, both at the office as well as at public events; so, the ability to interact with others in a pleasant and professional manner is critical.
The Chamber may consider staffing this role as a full time position, a job share or as two part time positions. We ask candidates to identify their interest and preference within their application. Some aspects of this position can be done remotely and some in person at the office. As we form the office make up, if you live in a community outside of Whitehorse and are interested in a part time position, given our new remote capabilities we could entertain new possibilities.

This position collaborates with the Chamber Executive Director, the Chamber Employer Advisor, the Chamber board, the business community, volunteers and the general public.
General Administration:
Manage and document correspondence. Collect mail, respond to telephone, mail and email inquiries
Demonstrate strong written and verbal communications skills. Comprehension required to draft formal letters and understand complex issues. Regularly offer proofreading support for YCC outward communications.
Coordinate accounts receivable and payable with Chamber bookkeeper. Ability to post basic financial transactions, follow up on past-due accounts and maintain office supplies and program-related inventories
Manage corporate knowledge for a variety of programs administered by the Chamber. Continue to maintain digital filing systems and databases.
Contribute to the efficient planning, control and operations of the Chamber
Organize and assist as required with workshops, conferences and other events
Coordinate and organize board, committee, and all YCC meetings by managing the office calendar. Also ensure all materials required are distributed. IE: agendas, minutes, etc.
Attend meetings and record minutes
In conjunction with the executive director, create and distribute the annual report
Membership Care:
Maintain membership contact database in great detail
Receive clients and visitors, answer inquiries and supply quality information as required. Going the extra mile to assist members is always encouraged.
Responsible for the coordination and preparation of regular communications to Chamber members, including a monthly newsletter, email notices, social media, advertising and other updates
Ability to make website updates using the wix platform and responsible for ensuring the website is kept current and relevant.
Manage membership enrolment, invoicing, and members participation in events.
Regularly collect feedback and share information members provide to the YCC office with the executive director.
Education & Experience:
Post–secondary coursework in office administration or a related field or equivalent
Demonstrated experience performing a wide variety of administrative support services, event planning and financial management.
Knowledge of board dynamics and NGO operational protocols
Skills & Certifications:
Proficiency specifically with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, QuickBooks and WIX websites. Embracing and growing the digital business environment within operations is always a priority.
Valid Yukon driver’s license
Excellent verbal and written communications skills
Marketing and business experience
Ability to work both independently and in a small-group environment
Strong organizational skills are essential, as well as the ability to multitask.
Working Conditions:
Salary: $45,000 to $50,000 per annum ($21-$25 per hour) plus health benefits. Wage dependent on experience and qualifications.
Hours of Office: Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 5:00 pm. Willing and able to work some evenings and weekends when required for special events.
Hybrid Working Environment: some in person and some remote work
