A strategic partner in program and student success, the RO champions NAIT’s educational model and provides subject matter expertise on admissions, enrolment and student information system solutions and data.

As an essential member of the Enrolment Management team in the Office of the Registrar, the Admissions Officer is accountable for accurate and efficient processing of student applications to NAIT Degree, Diploma, and Certificate programs. Working within a dynamic and supportive team environment, Admissions Officers work collaboratively with the Admissions Team to review, evaluate, analyze and interpret applicants’ admission documents and academic history for admission. The Admission Officer is responsible for ongoing one-on-one applicant relationship management, including communicating consistent, accurate and clear program admission requirements

Key Responsibilities:
This position plays a key role in converting applicants to students. Recent or current hands-on experience with application processing, admissions business processes and the PeopleSoft Campus Solutions system is necessary for daily work as well as for on-going and strategic enhancements to office procedures. The incumbent uses system data and reporting tools to process applications to NAIT credit programs and monitor applicant movement. The incumbent supports the RO leadership team and other RO business units in establishing strong and effective working relationships with Schools and other Student Services departments ensuring that the applicant/student experience is holistic and rewarding.

Knowledge and Skills:
Knowledge and ability to interpret FOIP legislation to ensure records and documentation are treated with confidentiality

Ability to make sound admission decisions based on program eligibility criteria

Ability to manage admission targets and work within critical deadlines

Ability to work within and/or facilitate admissions projects

Ability to “think through” applicant issues and be a solution-finder

Ability to work within a high volume environment

Proficient oral and written English communication skills

Working knowledge in aspects of project management is an asset

Qualifications:
Related business diploma with 3 to 5 years of related experience or High School Diploma with 5 to 7 years of related experience (other equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered).

Previous experience in a Registrar’s Office working with a student information system like PeopleSoft Campus Solutions is preferred

Remuneration: $1,806.03 – $ 2,337.26 plus a comprehensive benefit plan. (Classification – Administrative Assistant V)

This position is covered by the AUPE (Alberta Union of Provincial Employees) Collective Agreement.
