Director, Shared Services
Location: Bridgetown, Barbados – Emera Carribean

The Barbados Light & Power Company Limited (BLPC), a member of the Emera Group of Companies, is seeking applications from suitably qualified professionals to fill the position of Director, Shared Services. Reporting to the Managing Director, this Executive leadership role is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the Human Resources, Information and Communications Technology and Facilities business units, through:

• Implementing a shared services model that leverages resources and creates synergies across the Emera Caribbean affiliate companies.

• Championing corporate strategy development and execution, including business continuity planning, and aligning shared services approaches and services.

• Providing relevant, responsive counsel to the Leadership Team in the portfolio areas.

• Developing, implementing and monitoring the objectives, policies, procedures, compliance and service level agreements for internal service delivery in the portfolio areas.

• Directly interfacing with the Board of Directors of BLPC and Emera Caribbean for strategy approvals, and progress and compliance reporting.

• Developing and managing the Department’s budget and work plans.

Qualifications and Experience

• A university degree or equivalent qualification in the relevant area or a related field.

• Qualification at the postgraduate level in HR or related area is desirable.

• A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior leadership capacity in the relevant area or a related field.

• Demonstrable project management and delegation skills.

• Demonstrable skills and experience in organisational design and implementation.

• Flexibility and results-driven nature with the ability to manage emerging priorities based on shifting business needs.

• Experience leading and managing change and business transformation initiatives.

• Working knowledge of labour and related legislation and best practices.

• Experience managing Enterprise System implementations and maintenance such as Oracle, Maximo, SAP.

• Practical experience with tender processes and management of large contracts with third party service providers.

• Strong customer service ethic and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
