Applications are invited for the position of International Admissions Officer, in the International Division, located at the Niagara Corporate Business Centre located next to the Daniel J. Patterson Campus. The starting salary is $29.88 /hr for a 35 hour work week. Additional hours may be required as necessary.
Reporting to the Manager, International Admissions, the successful candidate is responsible for facilitating the admission of international students into Niagara College programs by advising on admissions policies and processes and assessing the international qualifications of applicants. The International Admissions Officer is the primary point of contact for applicants, international education agencies, recruitment managers and institutional partners specifically dedicated to ensuring that international applicants meet the admission standards of Niagara College programs and focusing on guiding and advising applicants and agents on processes to ensure a positive experience while applying to Niagara College.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assessment of international transcripts, including research and interpretation towards Canadian equivalencies, to render admission decisions based on in-house evaluation and College admission criteria;
Provides information to potential international students and their representatives regarding program availability, admissions criteria, selection criteria, pre-admission requirements, applicant status, etc.;
Provides information and guidance to international students, agencies, foreign institutions and governments pertaining to admissions and enrollment at offshore campus facilities and programs including how to apply, admission criteria, bridging to Niagara College Canada, and accessing services such as housing and settlement, airport transportation, and consular services;
Main liaison for international-related admission inquiries and assistance between Niagara College and external Partners, providing workflow priorities and assignment changes/updates, and performs quality assessment review of partner-related applications;
Enrolment and registration for English for Academic Preparation (EAP), contract training groups, customized programs and offshore campus programs;
Qualifications:
Two (2) year diploma in Business, International Business, International Relations, Office Administration, Information Technology or similar field of study;
Minimum two (2) years’ experience working in administrative or clerical capacity within a culturally diverse and/or fast-paced global environment to include evaluating international transcripts and supporting academic documents or equivalent;
Cross-cultural knowledge and skills, typically acquired through significant international travel or language acquisition;
Excellent communication, organization skills and attention to detail;
Demonstrated self-starter with the ability to work with minimal supervision;
Experience using PeopleSoft and SalesForce is considered an asset;
