Account Director – McCann Health Canada – Toronto

As the Account Director on the business, you will be the main client contact on the brands assigned, providing these clients with strategic integrated marketing solutions. With a primary specialty in Healthcare Communications, this role also requires you to manage an internal integrated communications team ensuring all client work is flawlessly executed.

About the Role:
Manage internal team, agency resources and workflow process

Primary contact with senior clients, providing clients with innovative short and long term strategic marketing guidance

Fully understand all aspects of the clients’ business and the competitive business environment

Complete understanding of the pharmaceutical regulatory environment

Develop a positive and partnering relationship with all clients

Take the lead role on building the clients business, generating new strategies for agency-client partnerships

Develop effective strategies to motivate creative excellence while maintaining strategic course

Aspire to and inspire world-class creative

Ensure that account team produces all client work with highest level of quality, on time and on budget

Provide council to team and client on all communications projects

Ensure that strategies are being met on multiple on-going campaigns

Overall fiscal responsibility for budgets, billings, profitability and forecasting

Provide input into staffing plans, budgets and promotions

Take an active role in building a positive agency culture

Take an active role in developing all direct reports, providing mentorship and conducting on-going performance evaluations

Assist and lead new business initiatives

About You:
Minimum of 7-10 years experience in a client service role in an agency with a focus on Healthcare Communications

Ideal applicant would have been involved in multiple integrated campaigns

Experience with PAAB

Solid understanding of agency and creative process

Ability to inspire world-class creative

Track record of building strong long term client relationships

Continually drive for results and highest quality standards

Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills

Demonstrated fiscal management skills

Ability to keep composure in high stress situations

Experienced people manager, demonstrating strong mentoring abilities

Superior organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail

Demonstrated strategic thinker with ability to lead a business

Solid understanding of business and current marketplace

Category experience a strong asset

Ability to design and deliver presentation with a creative flare
