The International Centre for the Prevention of Crime (ICPC) is currently accepting applications for the following position:
Analyst and Project officer – CRIMINOLOGY
Created in 1994 and based in Montreal, the ICPC is an international forum for national governments, local authorities, public agencies, specialised institutions and non-government organisations to exchange experience, consider emerging knowledge and improve policies and programmes in crime prevention and community safety.
The ICPC brings together some 40 members, including non-governmental organisations, police, municipalities and governments from around the world. ICPC staff monitors and analyses trends, provides direct assistance to members, and contributes to public knowledge and understanding in the field. ICPC works in collaboration with the UNODC (United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime) and UN-Habitat including the Safer Cities Programme.
ACTIVITIES
Under the supervision of the Research Management team, the Analyst and Project Officer will:
- Be responsible for the development, implementation, coordination and evaluation of various projects aimed at the prevention of crime and violence;
- Contribute to the conceptualization and planning of research projects and participate in the collection and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data;
- Actively participate in the development of the organization, by developing new partnerships, writing project proposals, by being present on social media and at events related to the Centre’s projects;
- Carry out other related tasks
The person sought must have experience and knowledge related to project management and research, in one of the following disciplines: criminology sociology or urbanism.
The candidate will be bilingual, with strong proficiency in French and English (oral and written), particularly in French. Other languages are considered an asset, especially Spanish. The candidate must be available to travel.
One to two years of relevant experience are required.

- Proficiency in statistical analysis of crime (UCR data – Statistics Canada file)

- Permanent full-time position
- Work location: Montreal or elsewhere in Canada (telework)
- Possibility of teleworking
- The annual salary will depend on qualifications and experience.
