Job Summary

The University of the Fraser Valley invites applications for a full-time faculty member in its Teacher Education Department (TED) which includes undergraduate level prerequisite courses (Chilliwack and Abbotsford campus); a post-degree Bachelor of Education (BEd) for prospective elementary, middle, and secondary teachers (Abbotsford campus); and a Master of Education (MEd) in Educational Leadership and Mentorship (Abbotsford campus). Our graduates are distinguished in the teaching profession because of their strong ability to integrate educational theory and knowledge into a reflective teaching practice that is critically minded, pedagogically sensitive, and socially just. The position is subject to budgetary approval.

This is a position for an educator who enjoys the challenge of working in an innovative program, and whose philosophy about teacher education is consistent with TED’s Mission Statement, Department Values, and the Program Goals for both the MEd and the BEd. This individual will also share the TED faculty’s commitments to social justice and anti-racism, and to decolonizing and Indigenizing practices. The applicant should have the expertise and ability to teach across a variety of subject areas in the BEd and/or MEd, with the ability to integrate their research and/or scholarship into their teaching. Expertise in Special Education, Indigenous Education, and/or Secondary Humanities is required. The elementary/middle and secondary program structures can be found at ufv.ca/teacher-education.
