Description
The Kettle Campaign Coordinator helps ensure the smooth running of the Kettle Campaign to maximize donations through the coordination of the schedules of the Kettle staff/volunteers. We are looking for a highly organized person with strong interpersonal skills who is willing to adhere to the mission and values of The Salvation Army and will represent The Salvation Army in a positive, professional manner.
HOURS:
- Full Time/ 40 hours per week, flexibility with work hours/schedule is expected.
- This is a temporary seasonal position. The start date is October 01, 2021, to December 24, 2021.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Promote, coordinate, and oversee the activities of Christmas Kettle Campaign staff and/or volunteers
- Oversee the operations of the Christmas Kettle campaign including, scheduling of staff, counting, reporting, and maintaining records of donations received.
- Will participate in recruitment and training of staff and or volunteers.
- Orientation and performance management of Kettle Workers employees and/or volunteers
- Coordinate the schedule for kettle staff/volunteers and responds to emergency absences, etc.
- Foster and maintain positive working relationships with kettle sites.
- Coordinate the delivery and pick-up of kettles to/from sites daily, ensuring the security of donations.
- May deliver and pick up kettles in an emergency.
- Host at a kettle as required ensuring necessary coverage for breaks, etc.
- Ensure that kettle locations have adequate supplies of literature etc.
- Assist in making presentations to groups, organizations, service clubs, churches, and businesses to assist in filling volunteer positions.
- Make bank deposits as required.
- Record statistical data and prepare weekly timesheets as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Certifications:
- The successful job applicant will have completed High School.
- Must have valid B.C. Class 5 driver’s license. A driver’s abstract will be required.
- Background check consent
- A clear vulnerable sector screening
- A clean driver abstracts
Experience:
- Prior related experience would be a definite asset.
- Alternative combinations of education and/or experience may be considered.
- Experience with general office equipment and must have strong skills and experience using word processing (MS Word); spreadsheet use (MS Excel)
- Experience in event management, campaign coordinating, or fundraising is considered an asset.

- Proficient in working in a computerized environment; must demonstrate strong skills using Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint

- Lead by example, by demonstrating a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn and be flexible in the face of change.
- Ability to maintain information in confidence and exercise good judgment.

- Must comply with all Salvation Army policies, procedures, and associated legislation.
