Communication and Events Coordinator

We are looking for someone to design and lead implementation of our in-house communications strategy and to coordinate event planning (online and in-person). We are also a small team and this full-time position requires you to be extremely flexible and do whatever it takes to get things done, from research and client management through to completing mundane office tasks. This position would ideally be based in Toronto, Canada but we are open to any Canadian applicants.

We are looking to hire an experienced Communication and Events Coordinator who is looking for an opportunity to work at a unique boutique firm that specializes in justice, equity, diversity and inclusion (JEDI) leadership during a time of exciting growth and expansion.

Position Overview

Communication and Social media strategy: 50%

  • Lead design of Anima communications strategy with senior leadership team
  • Lead and manage social media strategy:  planning, writing, curating, scheduling
  • Content creation for social media (producing graphics, GIFs, video)
  • Coordinate the editorial calendar and liaise across departments for content development
  • Grow our follower base and inspire action through conversion (client bookings, café attendance etc)
  • Ongoing community engagement and management, for organic and paid social ad campaigns
  • Conduct daily social listening, news scans + media monitoring 
  • Maintain media lists and requests
  • Recording and editing the monthly Anima Café podcast recording

Platform & analytics support: 20%

  • Support and maintenance of all Anima corporate and related websites
  • Newsletter creation and deployment (mailchimp), as well as newsletter list maintenance
  • Tracking and analysis of social media, email marketing and media metrics against established KPIs
  • Research on best practices in communications and marketing, including trends and breaking news on technologies

Event Coordination and Admin Support: 30%

  • Lead planning of online and in person events and courses with senior leadership team including monthly Anima cafes and bi-annual conference
  • Host tech for online events and parallel for in-person including break out rooms etc
  • Create course and client evaluations and track data feedback
  • Track metrics for online events and courses to inform growth strategy
  • Drive & document maintenance
  • Support the curation and sharing of communications updates
  • Other duties as assigned

Other Helpful Skills

  • Fluency in French, both written and spoken
  • Qualitative and quantitative research and writing skills
  • Ability to write RFPs, grant proposals, etc.

Starting Salary:  $50- 70,000 FT salaried position (with annual salary increases), 9am-5pm EST (Monday-Friday).  Health benefits after six months.
