Description
This is a permanent, full-time position based on 37.5 hours per week. The work schedule is determined in consultation with your supervisor and may vary according to requirements of responsibility. Applicable shifts include a ½ hour unpaid meal break. This is a continuous operation (24/7) facility.
Shifts: Friday-Tuesday 10:00 pm – 6:00 am
This is a unionized facility.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor the front desk reception area of the Community Residential Facility (CRF)
- Respond to all in-coming calls and liaise with other agencies in a professional manner
- Record daily activities of clients and incidents occurring during the shift using log book, activity records and occurrence reports
- Contact emergency service personnel as required
- Maintain confidentiality with regard to the client records and information
- Perform other position related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of a minimum of one (1) year of University/ Community College in a Social Services, Criminology or related field of study
- Minimum of one (1) year experience working with adults in the criminal justice system in an institutional or residential setting
- Have a valid, current certification in First Aid & CPR and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
- Good communication skills that help to establish trust with clients
- Critical thinking and problem solving skills
- Competent in word process, including Windows XP, Microsoft Office, Excel
- Provide an original copy of a Background Check with vulnerable sector screening that is satisfactory to The Salvation Army, in its sole discretion, is required. The screening is secured either through the National Canadian Police Information Centre (CPIC) or through a local police detachment.
- Able to obtain Enhanced Reliability Screening through Correctional Services Canada
- Support for and an understanding of the mission and purpose of The Salvation Army in Canada.
- Requires screening through The Salvation Army Abuse Registry.
