Who we are…

The Yukon Workers’ Compensation Health and Safety Board administers occupational health and safety and workers’ compensation in the territory. YWCHSB’s focus is to prevent work-related injuries and illnesses in partnership with employers and workers and to support workers when injuries occur. We take care of injured workers by facilitating their stay at work, return to work and recovery. In the tragic event of a workplace fatality, we provide benefits and services to the deceased worker’s dependents.

Essential Qualifications

Please note: your resume must clearly demonstrate how you meet the following qualifications. Selection for further consideration will be based solely on the information you provide in your resume and screening questionnaire. When listing work experience in your resume, please include the month and year you started and ended a job.

  • University Diploma or Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or other directly related discipline;
  • Senior-level management experience with financial, human resource and material assets management;
  • Significant experience leading complex multidisciplinary projects or initiatives to completion;
  • Significant experience providing advice to senior management;
  • Demonstrated experience applying LEAN or similar methodologies for business analytics and continuous improvement;
  • Experience applying foundational accounting principles;
  • A professional accounting designation will be considered an asset;
  • Experience within a Workers Compensation administration setting and applying related legislation and policy to decisions will be considered an asset.

Candidates who have a combination of education, training and/or experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may be equally considered.

You are an experienced change manager, and understand the value in ensuring the successful adoption of change by internal and external YWCHSB stakeholders. You have a strong business and financial acumen, and value partnership, accountability and compassion as core organizational guiding principles.

In addition, you have the ability to:

  • Lead, manage, mentor and motivate staff to inspire innovation;
  • Lead the planning, execution and evaluation of organization and program activities;
  • Understand public sector policy development, decision making and accountability frameworks;
  • Communicate effectively and present to executive-level audiences and a wide range of stakeholder groups;
  • Provide excellent service to clients;
  • Develop strategies and plans at the branch and organizational level;
  • Lead and understand corporate finance and measures of performance;
  • Build and leverage positive and long term partnerships with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Understand business information systems to conceptualize and lead technical advancements and solutions.

Candidates will be assessed using Yukon Government’s Core Competency Framework.

Additional Information

Conditions of Employment:

  • Class 5 Yukon Driver’s Licence or equivalent
  • RCMP Security Clearance
  • Certified copies of degree(s) or certificate(s) to be submitted prior to hire.

Job Requirements:

  • Occasional travel within and outside Yukon
