Director, Human Resources (MG5) – $92,748 to $127,375 per annum
Certified candidates will be placed on a registry for a minimum of one year. The registry may be used when filling permanent and term Director, Human Resource positions throughout Yukon government. At this time, we anticipate filling 2-3 positions within six months.

The opportunity…
As the Director of Human Resources, you will lead a team of professional staff performing a diverse range of activities that contributes to the development, alignment and execution of human resource and business strategies across a variety of functions and locations. In partnership with the Public Service Commission and other organizational leaders, our Directors of Human Resources lead the department’s and organization’s efforts in planning, attracting, developing, managing and retaining key talent so they can concentrate on doing what they do best: providing high quality services to our clients. You will also take a lead role in promoting and aligning corporate human resource management strategies and best practices with departmental business strategies and objectives.

You anticipate and identify emerging issues and trends to ensure success and mitigate risks, while successfully balancing employee and organizational needs and interests. You operate with integrity and influence using persuasion and collaboration in the implementation and integration of human resource solutions while building positive and reciprocal relationships across the organization.

Essential qualifications

Post-secondary education in human resources or other related discipline combined with a demonstrated understanding of human resource principles.
Senior level experience leading across an organization; including directing the implementation and execution of human resource principles, policies and frameworks (in a public sector setting is preferred)
Considerable experience providing strategic advice, direction and recommendations to senior management and decision makers.
Considerable experience managing staff including a demonstrated ability to build capacity and relationships.
Candidates who have a combination of education and experience equivalent to the essential qualifications listed above may also be considered.
