Position Overview:
Under the direction of the Hospitality General Manager, the Director of Sales and Catering is responsible for managing the total sales initiatives of the enterprise in accordance with the overall business plans of the Grey Eagle Resort and Casino. The Director of Sales and Catering is required to effectively manage, support and lead the sales and catering team. Must liaise with the Marketing Manager and other members of the senior executive management team to ensure targets and goals are met in terms of sales, service and customer satisfaction. To effectively build strong relationships with clients while finalizing and coordinating all catering, events, group business using Grey Eagle Resort sales and catering policy and procedures. To provide clear event orders, in timely and effective information to all operational departments, to ensure successful execution of all group events.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field an asset.
  • Minimum 3-5 years in a management capacity
  • Working experience in the tourism industry preferred.

– Minimum 3 – 5 years working experience in sales and/or catering required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent time management, writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven skills to interact effectively with employees in order to direct work flow, assess performance and assign duties.
  • Computer skills including: Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point or related sales programs.
  • Knowledge of Opera property management system an asset
  • Flexible hours based on upcoming events and groups to include weekends & evenings.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
