The Ministry of Advanced Education is recruiting a skilled and dynamic communications leader.
As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for leading, developing and implementing communications strategies to publicly raise awareness about the ministry’s priorities. You will be proactive and able to problem solve, providing leadership and advice on emerging communications issues.
In this position, you will lead the strategic communications planning and implementation on internal and external projects, involving collaboration with various stakeholders. You will also provide mentorship to a team and will oversee the development of various communications material.
Reporting to the Executive Director of Strategic Communications, you will help foster a positive culture and lead a team of professionals. You must be able to demonstrate the values of excellence and innovation, respect and integrity, and working as one team.
You must be proactive, organized, flexible, and able to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders, manage multiple projects in a busy work environment, and work as a team and independently. You must be able to problem solve and take initiative to proactively plan.
Strategic communications, media relations and issues management experience are essential, along with superior writing and interpersonal skills.
Formal education is typically obtained with a degree in English, Journalism of Communications, combined with several years of experience as a senior communications professional, including leadership experience.
