Wage: $27.00-$28.50 per hour
Part Time: 35 hr/wk.

Job Summary
The program supervisor is responsible for the daily operation of the Diversity Education Program, which is designed to provide education, support and resources on diversity, anti-racism, hate and bigotry. The Program Supervisor has 2 key responsibilities: providing supervision, support, and evaluation to the Diversity Education team; and supporting program administration, program implementation and development and ensuring the program operates effectively and meets its goals and objectives.
Responsibilities
Supervision
Recruits and hires staff and volunteers following proper hiring policies and practices seeking consultation with the Director of Multicultural and Immigrant Integration Services, as needed.
Provides support, leadership, direction, and supervision to staff and volunteers using a variety of techniques including coaching, training, skill development, discipline and attendance management.
Evaluates the performance of staff providing feedback. Identifies staff needs such as training, management, and personal development.
Coordinates weekly Team Meetings either as a group or one-on-one.
Provides a supportive and motivating environment for all staff members.
Administration
Organizes, coordinates, and oversees the daily operations of the Diversity Education program in accordance with funder requirements and agency policies and procedures.
Collects and analyzes client data and reports program statistics and performance to the agency, funders and required stakeholder groups on a quarterly and annual basis.
Completes the Quarterly Quality Improvements report every quarter as well as the Annual Report and submit to the Director.
Manages and approves payroll hours, expense claims and schedules.
Monitors project budgets on an ongoing basis ensuring program performance is consistent with budgeted expectations, taking corrective actions where necessary.
Program Development and Coordination
Writes funding proposals in response to grants, requests for proposals, requests for qualifications and call for proposals to gain new project funding.
Develops program budgets in consultation with the Multicultural and Immigrant Integration Services Director and the Finance Director, to be approved by the Finance Committee.
Ensures all deliverables are met for every project (on time and within the contracted agreement), assuming tasks where required.
Monitor’s revenues and expenses on an ongoing basis ensuring program performance is consistent with budgeted expectations and analyze variances taking corrective actions where necessary.
Represents and promotes the program, acts as the media liaison, when required and ensures the agency and community are portrayed in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
Participates in internal and external meetings, to develop programs, coordinate services and communicate between stakeholder groups.
Client Service Duties
Provides anti-racism and diversity related training within the community and agency upon request.
Develops and implements educational and awareness sessions.
Organizes special events.
Supports victims of discrimination through hearing their story, recording the incident they have experienced and making appropriate referrals (this may be over the phone or in person). Bring these incidents to the attention of the appropriate tables such as the Fraser Valley Human Dignity Coalition.
Requirements and Qualifications
Education and Certification:
Diploma or degree in a human services field, or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Satisfactory Criminal Records Check.
Advanced courses in facilitating anti-racism, equity, diversity, inclusion, challenging white supremacy culture, anti-oppression and other related content is an asset.
Experience:
At least two years’ experience in a supervisory role.
At least one years’ experience supporting newcomer integration to the community.
At least one years’ experience in proposal and report writing..
Knowledge and Skill Set
Strong knowledge of the types of discrimination and its impact.
Strong written, verbal, and active listening skills, able to communication effectively and respectively with a variety of people for different backgrounds.
Well-developed networking presentation, and relationship building skills.
Strong Office 365 skills, including word, excel and power point.
Strong organizational, time management, and planning skills.
Strong supervisory skills including coaching, mentoring and facilitation skills.
Proven ability to work effectively during crisis.
Working Conditions
This position requires adherence to COVID-19 safety protocols.
This position requires both remote and in-person work.
This position includes frequent interruptions. Strong ability to switch task is required.
This position includes long periods of time in a seated position.
This position requires the ability to attend off-site meetings, when needed.
This position requires occasional evening and weekend meetings/events.
