Faculty Supervisors, Faculty of Education

The Faculty of Education is seeking Faculty Supervisors to work with our teacher candidates during student teaching practicums. For After Degree students, fall practicum dates are October 18 – November 19, 2021 and spring practicum dates are March 14 – May 6, 2022 . For Integrated Program students, practicum dates are March 14 – May 20, 2022 (5th year Integrated Program students) and April 25 – June 3, 2022 (3rd and 4th year Integrated Program students).

The role of the Faculty Supervisor includes maintaining communication with the cooperating teacher and the teacher candidate, monitoring progress, and providing advice and assistance as the teacher candidates develop their teaching skills. These skills include planning and preparation, delivery of instruction, classroom engagement/management/environment, student evaluation and assessment, communication and professional responsibilities. Supervisors observe, conference, mentor, and in consultation with the cooperating teacher generate a summative report. Faculty Supervisors keep the Field Experience office informed of any difficulties.

Applicants must have a good understanding of the Manitoba school curriculum and have recent successful teaching experience and/or relevant expertise.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Education and qualify for a Manitoba Teaching Certificate

Salary: As per BUFA Collective Agreement
