DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a member of our Finance team, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

Independent role requiring individual to develop strong relationships with operations and shared service functions across the organization to ensure timely issue resolution and reporting;

Work with operational leaders, project managers, and project delivery teams in analyzing the financial metrics to report to the business;

Build and maintain a reporting framework ensuring hierarchies remain intact and secure to ensure key metrics are reportable and designed to automated vs manual in nature;

Directs and oversees annual financial planning and budget process, CAPEX budgeting and quarterly forecasting process to increase visibility and accountability of KPIs;

Manages weekly, monthly and quarterly internal reporting process, including analysis and commentary on company’s performance and discrepancies between budgets and forecasts;

Manages and prepares all board and C-Suite reporting packages and ad-hoc analysis and reports;

Manage inter/intra company planning and allocation process between legal entities and business lines in the organization;

Lead key national finance implementation and training initiatives on governance, policies, systems, and practices;

Provide ad-hoc support for due diligence, acquisitions, or other complex initiatives and transactional areas;

Develop, improve and standardize core processes of the business including participating in bid reviews and proposal assistance;

Drive continuous improvement projects that mitigate risk and drive efficiency in organization;

Deliver national guidance and oversight over operational finance practices and procedures to ensure adherence to our finance tools, policies and practices;

Step in where necessary to coordinate and resolve issues or problems on short notice;

Supports CFO on national and ad-hoc initiatives, and;

Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

QUALIFICATIONS

University graduation, and at least 10 years of relevant work experience;

Strong leadership skills to manage to develop relationships with all levels of organization to accomplish strategic goals and priorities;

Experience in financial planning and analysis cycle including profitability and scenario analysis for short and long-term horizons;

Prior experience in implementing and managing rolling planning and forecasting process;

Advanced PowerPoint skills, proficient in financial modelling and developing executive quality presentations;

Advanced Excel skills in developing reporting and analysis tools, templates and reports;

Knowledge of SQL or desire to learn SQL and tools to extract large volumes of data for analysis;

System and IT savvy. Deltek Vision would be an asset;

Buildings workflows and automated or near automated processes to improve time efficiency;

Experience with Power BI or other presentation layer tools and dashboards;

Excellent leadership, communication, relationship-building and collaboration skills;

Solid problem solving and analytical skills and able to work through complex and ambiguous situations;

Capable of handling highly ambiguous and conflicting situations and make sound judgements and decisions;

Good knowledge of ASPE and fundamental accounting policies and practices;

Good understanding of operational finance, project accounting, controls and administration for large capital projects;

Works well under pressure and effectively manages and prioritizes tasks with short deadlines;

Flexible work schedule working some weekends and evenings where necessary to complete deadlines;

Strong attention to detail;

Seen as a senior finance member with a high and positive credibility factor with a strong reputation for uncompromising integrity;

Business partner and change agent; capable or working independently or in a team environment and driving effectiveness while holding teams accountable for meeting their collective goals;

Strong character who is ambitious, analytical and is cable of creating a climate where people want to do their best through empowering and giving a sense of identity and worth on the team or project;

Tactical problem solver and strategic thinker with strong ability to execute to deliver results by rolling up their sleeves to take things on themselves where necessary to get the job done;

Exceptional written and oral communicator, and motivator for indirect staff;

Displays self-awareness and ability to deal with ambiguity and continues to demonstrate good judgement balanced with informed risk taking;

Possesses managerial courage to tackle issues at the highest level and exhibits high energy and displays strong interpersonal skills;

The ability to successfully lead with little direction from the CFO to meet strategic finance and organization goals.
