La Loche is a thriving Dene community with a population of over 2500 people. The community has all the usual businesses, stores, churches and government agencies including a hospital and daycare facilities. Views of the lake add to the charm of the town. The environment surrounding La Loche offers a variety of recreational activities and has an indoor hockey arena. An airport offers charter flights to communities further south and to the north.
Dene High School provides educational programming for students in grades 7-12 in a modern, well-equipped facility with an enrolment of approximately 499 students, 30 teachers plus 5 paraprofessionals.
These are continuing full-time positions to start August 31, 2021. The successful candidates must be eligible for Saskatchewan teaching certification). Salary is according to the provincial salary grid www.stf.sk.ca plus a benefits package that includes subsidized, furnished housing and a northern living allowance. Moving assistance may be available.
La Loche is a progressive community located in northwestern Saskatchewan, accessible by paved road with many amenities.
