The Regional District is looking to fill the position of Human Resources Generalist to provide guidance, advice and executive support in all competency areas of the human resources function in a unionized environment, including but not limited to, recruitment, selection, collective agreement and benefits administration, performance development management, training and development, Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and participation in relevant committees.

The Human Resources Generalist will have regular contact with the management team, staff, elected officials and the general public. The position requires strong organizational skills, confidentiality and a high degree of competency in managing a wide variety of human resources and administrative initiatives.

The preferred candidate will have the Chartered Professional in Human Resources (CPHR) designation or eligibility to obtain same; post-secondary degree in a Human Resources discipline or equivalent (a combination of relevant experience and education will be considered); a minimum of three years’  experience in a human resources role, preferably in a unionized environment; and excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.  The candidate will also require a valid BC Driver’s License and the ability to obtain and maintain a clear police record check.
