NOTE: This is a temporary
position ending on or before September 2025 with the possibility of extension.

 

NOTE: This is an on-campus position at our Main campus store at
NAIT where you will work predominately Mon to Fri 8:00am-3:45pm (some
flexibility will be required during our back-to-school intakes with evening and
weekend support).

variety of projects in a team environment? The shop AT NAIT team
(http://www.shop.nait.ca ) is looking for an Administrative Assistant who has
excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, a creative spark for
communications and marketing, and a flare for being resourceful. Reporting to
the two Managers within the Bookstore, this role is an integral support for the
department’s team and is responsible for day-to-day coordination and
implementation of support systems that help our business thrive. If you take

Key
Responsibilities:

  • Support the Management Team and departmental leadership teams
    in a variety of areas related to the operations, student success, and the NAIT
    community.
  • Work with colleagues, NAIT departments, and external partners
    to facilitate departmental communication and messaging, such as desktop
    publishing for marketing materials, team handbooks and newsletters
  • Process and administer functions and services related to
    office management and special programs operated by shop AT NAIT (e.g. leading
    sponsored student accounts administration).
  • Support the area’s marketing team in creating, organizing,
    and delivering high-energy, customer-focused promotions.
  • Greet office visitors and assist with inquiries in a
    welcoming and professional manner.
  • Join the team in offering an excellent experience for
    students and the NAIT community, giving added hands-on support during rush,
    intakes, and special store promotions.
  • Supporting reporting standards (i.e. safety reports and other
    audit reports)
  • Weekly upkeep and overview of our website content for
    accuracy and ease of shopping
  • Develop and maintain shop AT
    NAIT’s social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and TikTok) content in
    collaboration with the Digital Media Specialist
  • Monitor and engage with followers on social
    media, including responding to relevant messages and comments and provide
    social customer service
  • Design and produce posters, social media
    graphics, etc.
  • Assist the buying team when required with
    part set up, reporting and requisition processing
  • Assist in the requisition process to cycle
    through program requisitions as required

 

Skills
& Abilities:

  • A positive attitude with excellent skills in teamwork,
    customer service, resourcefulness, and communication.
  • Strong attention to detail, while often working under tight
    timelines
  • The capacity to organize and administer several projects in
    tandem with daily responsibilities, and model flexibility in a dynamic work
    environment.
  • An aptitude for social media platforms and computer software
    programs, including fluency in MS Office
  • Thorough training and
    knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) and Canva.
  • Use of good judgement and discretion in the administration
    and prioritization of tasks and projects.

 

Qualifications:

  • Must have minimum of 2-3 years experience in administration
    or a related field; preference will be given to candidates with experience in a
    retail or post-secondary environment.
  • High school diploma with post-secondary education, preferably
    in office administration.
  • Experience managing social media channels and
    developing engaging content as part of an organizational strategy
  • Must have experience or education related to marketing,
    communications, or design.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be
    considered.

 

Remuneration: $39,831.25
– $51,426.65 annually (based on 32.63 hours per week), plus a comprehensive
benefits package. (Classification – Administrative Support IV).                           

This
position is covered by the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees (AUPE)
Collective Agreement.
