Reporting to the Director, Product & Market Leadership, this position is responsible for the value Technical Safety BC provide to clients through the education product line. As the Product Leader – Education, you will lead the development, implementation, management and evaluation of education projects and programs for clients, stakeholders, and the public. You will also supervise and lead the Client Education Team that is responsible for all phases of education product development from ideation to launch.

As a Product Leader, Client Education, you will be responsible for:
Identifying opportunities and effectively drive safety outcomes on behalf of Technical Safety BC through design and development of education projects for clients, stakeholders, and the public.
Leading the Competency Framework initiative which will provide a foundational framework for educational programs and assessment models that will ultimately better support individuals who are seeking certification or who are already certified in pursuit of excellence and leadership in safety. This will be in collaboration with a consultant, members of the core team, stakeholders, and clients.
Driving safety outcomes through gap/needs analysis to determine project scope and deliverables. Once the needs are identified, identifies sources for raw content. Evaluates content to determine relevance, relationship of content to risk mitigation, and behaviours required.
Working in partnership with technical content experts (individuals and teams), for refining project scope, identifying audiences(s), and developing project proposals and plans.
Directing the team for material development to make it appropriate for the audience using learning theory, a variety of media and formats, and best practices. Also, participates in the review and adaptation of materials from external sources.
Monitoring trends in emergent learning technology, research new products and services, and recommends appropriate technology solutions. Designs, develops and/or recommends purchase of project tools or templates.
Directing the delivery of materials in face-to-face, online and blended environments and identifies and recommends technological or operational solutions to delivery issues. In partnership with the Information Technology Department, manages the development and maintenance of Technical Safety BC’s learning management system for safety education and awareness material.
Continuously evaluating the efficacy of new and existing products, delivery models and evaluation methods, for different client types and their safety needs, identify new opportunities, validate market demand and interest, and launch programs that foster safety in ways that are meaningful to clients.
Working in partnership with Operations Leaders to manage resources for facilitation of client education sessions.
Working closely with Marketing and communication leaders to ensure timely promotions to appropriate audience and with an aim to increase market penetration of education offerings.
Collaborating with the fee leader to drive pricing for education products.
Managing reporting employees, involving recruitment and selection; coaching and development; performance management; corrective performance measures and discipline and all related people practice in accordance with polices, practices, and the collective agreement. Interprets and applies the provisions of the collective agreement and represents the Employer in confidential labour relations matters.
Procuring and managing vendors, preparing client proposals and contractors, negotiating and closing deals as required.
Cultivating relationships with other internal departments, stakeholders, and industry groups to drive safety education initiatives across the province of BC.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience you have:
Experience in product management and project management
Formal education in the principles and practices of adult learning
Evidence-based and insight driven with end-to-end education program development experience
Experience in the design, development and presentation of material for diverse audiences, including clients, stakeholders, and the public
Knowledge of online delivery mechanisms and experience in a variety of delivery methods (in-person, e-learning, self-directed, etc.)
Leadership experience for projects and teams
Understanding of the fundamental principles of social marketing and their application to the education and awareness environment
Experience and methods in coaching and mentoring
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with teams
Requires a relevant degree supplemented by experience in managing complex projects
Valid BC Drivers’ License and a willingness to travel throughout the province is an asset
