As social distancing and lockdowns due to COVID-19 continue nationwide, there is a possibility that the delivery mode for courses this Lecturer will be required to teach would include both Remote and In-Person or a combination of In-Person and Remote. Applications are being accepted from qualified individuals for a Term position at the Lecturer rank, in the Department of Political Studies effective July 1, 2021 (the anticipated start date) to June 30, 2022.

Particulars of the Position: The Department has teaching needs in the areas of Canadian and Comparative Politics. The teaching load will be five 3 cu courses over the fall and winter terms.

The appointment will be made at the rank of Lecturer or Instructor depending on the successful candidate’s qualifications. Candidates must have a completed Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Political Studies.

Starting Salary for July 1, 2021:
Lecturer: $81,678

Instructor: $65,178

Teaching & Research Expectations: STM is committed to high-quality teaching and research. Successful candidates will be expected to make significant contributions to the teaching and (where appropriate) research missions of the College, to contribute to one or more of STM’s inter-disciplinary programs (Catholic Studies; Critical Perspectives on Social Justice and the Common Good; Classical, Medieval and Renaissance Studies; Jewish and Christian Origins; Ukrainian Studies) according to his/her interest or requirements of the position, and to forge productive links with the corresponding University of Saskatchewan Department of Economics. Successful candidates will demonstrate excellence or promise of excellence in teaching and graduate supervision.
