Manager, Traffic Operations

This is a term opportunity for up to twelve (12) months.

We have an exciting opportunity in the Traffic Engineering Branch in the Roadways & Transportation Department. Reporting to the Director, Roadways & Transportation, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with the current Manager, Traffic Engineering on planning, managing and leading the maintenance and operational aspects of the branch. This includes preservation of traffic control devices, parking, traffic bylaw management, construction zones and traffic accommodations, pedestrian corridor control, and expressway lighting. You will have experience with long and short range planning, performance management, process improvement, budgeting, as well as policy and project work. Your track record of identifying opportunities for improvement, developing, and delivering on plans and playing an integral role within organizations is exceptional. As Manager, Traffic Engineering – Operations, you will be responsible for building and mentoring your dynamic team to deliver these services.

IN order to meet the challenges of this position, the successful candidate must have knowledge and experience of core management practices including program/service delivery models, policy development, strategic planning, media relations, budgeting, performance measurement and management of human resources. Superior communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills in order to work with various stakeholders, customers, and staff in delivering department goals is essential. OOS Salary range: $96,088 to $128,113
