Part-time Faculty, General Arts & Sciences

As the COVID-19 pandemic evolves around the world and in our local community, Conestoga College continues to adjust plans based on the guidance provided by our local Public Health authority. Considering these unprecedented circumstances, final hiring decisions remain contingent upon confirmed enrolment numbers and the evolving work environment. Conestoga College will take appropriate measures to protect the safety and well-being of our College community and prospective candidates throughout the recruitment and selection process, including the scheduling of remote interviews.

We require qualified individuals to join the School of Interdisciplinary Studies teams to teach courses to General Arts & Science Certificate and Diploma students commencing Fall 2021. Selected candidates will be requested to teach a range of topic areas, including:

  • Student Success for Higher Learning

  • Critical Thinking

  • Career Discovery

Selected candidates must be able to deliver content in a variety of formats, including modular, online, hybrid, or non-semester formats. Selected candidates will need to be available for orientation prior to the start of the program.

Conestoga offers programs Monday to Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Fridays from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Candidates must be available to teach within these hours. Although many of our programs are being delivered remotely, all employees are expected to be able to work on campus as required.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of a Master’s Degree in a discipline associated with liberal arts or social sciences

  • Additional College credential such as TESL, Career Development Professional, Teacher Trainer of Adults, or level B Assessments (MBTI) preferred

  • Three to five years of related teaching experience at the post-secondary level is preferred

  • Ability to work on a team to deliver a dynamic interactive course

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, intercultural, and collaborative skills

  • Strong computer skills and an understanding of D2L learning platform

  • Proven coaching or mentoring skills

  • Effective administrative skills to include constructive feedback, academic grading, and maintaining students records
