Part-Time Professors, Developmental Services Worker Diploma

POSITION SUMMARY

A leader in polytechnic education, Humber invites talented, committed individuals interested in teaching on a part-time basis to take the first step in joining our dynamic faculty team starting as early as September 2021.

We are accepting applications for part-time professors to teach in our Developmental Services Worker Diploma program in a wide range of courses including Intervention Techniques, Community Orientation, Interpersonal Communication and Relationships, and Sign Language and Augmentative Communication.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates will have a Bachelor’s degree (Master’s degree preferred) in Disability Studies, Psychology, Education or a relevant discipline, along with a minimum of 3 years of work experience in the Developmental Services or related field.

Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated expertise in teaching at the post-secondary level and the technical ability and knowledge to integrate new instructional technologies.

Additional competencies include, but are not limited to, strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills, commitment to teaching excellence, student success and inclusive teaching practices (i.e. Universal Design for Learning). Incumbents will also display a commitment to the values of the Faculty of Social and Community Services: Integrity, Inclusion, Compassion, Self-Awareness, and Respect.
