Position: Physical Education Teacher

Location: Brochet School

Start Date: September 7, 2021

FTE: 1.00 FTE

Term of Employment: Permanent

Brochet School is a Nursery to Grade 9 school with approximately 125 students. Brochet is a picturesque and peaceful community located on the northeastern shores of Reindeer Lake. Access is via daily scheduled flights from Thompson, MB and by winter road. The community has a population of approximately 600 people with community services such as general store, nursing station (with regular specialist visits) and a local constable.

Qualifications:
Bachelor of Education Degree

Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)

A sound knowledge of provincial Physical Education curricula

Previous Physical Education teaching experience

Strong classroom management skills

Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life

Experience working in a northern community

Experience working with students with unique needs

A commitment to differentiated instruction

A willingness to inquire into best practices and reflect on practices

A team player committed to the belief that all students can learn

Self-motivated
