About the role

The Principal Recruiter is responsible for recruiting/sourcing technology and business professionals; Product Manager, Business Analyst, Data Science, Process Manager and other roles that come your way. The associates you hire will lead teams or individually contribute to our company’s success. You take a creative approach to seeking out the best talent, employing innovative recruiting techniques that enable us to be a best-in-class recruitment shop.  In partnership with your team, you will effectively manage candidates through the recruiting and selection process, provide consulting and guidance to our business clients and participate in projects that enhance the recruiting experience. Your internal clients are very engaged in, and will be working closely with you to support the recruitment process. This role, and the associates you hire, will have a huge impact on helping Capital One Canada drive forward.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the full lifecycle recruiting process. This will include creating compelling position descriptions, sourcing diverse candidate pipelines, marketing Capital One’s talent brand to attract top talent, screening candidates, advising hiring managers on the recruiting process, and negotiating job offers
  • Source stellar candidates. Look beyond direct applications and leverage search engines, career sites, recruiting events, and other innovative sourcing techniques to find the best talent in the market
  • Provide a great end-to-end recruiting experience for candidates and hiring managers
  • Advise clients and leadership on market trends and recommend more effective ways to attract and recruit great talent
  • Develop candidate pipeline strategies to fill open positions (i.e., talent marketing, LinkedIn sourcing, referrals, etc.)
  • Consult with hiring managers on their talent needs
  • Conduct job interviews and facilitate post-interview feedback meetings to aid in candidate selection
  • Create and extend job offers and close identified candidates
  • Leverage recruiting data to proactively provide status updates and hiring results to leadership and HR partners

Basic Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of experience as a full life-cycle recruiter
  • At least 3 years of experience sourcing candidates

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a full life-cycle recruiter in a corporate environment
  • 3+ years of experience collaborating with recruiting managers and peers on sourcing strategies
  • 2+ years of experience leveraging sourcing tools like LinkedIn Recruiter, Stack Overflow, and Google x-ray searches of Twitter or GitHub
  • 2+ years of experience creating and updating talent maps
  • Experience independently partnering with leadership on hiring initiatives
  • Ability to influence and drive results in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in compensation and general HR requirements as related to hiring
