What will you do in this job?:
The Hotel Manager will elevate Pyramid Lake Resort to realize its full potential as the finest boutique resort in Northern Alberta. Embracing Pyramid Lake Resort’s exclusive location, the Hotel Manager will drive unsurpassed guest experience by creating a driven and engaged team, unforgettable experiences and the opportunity for both adventure and deep-seated rest & relaxation.
Create and steer a culture of passion for guest experience and attention to detail that drives guest sentiment scores
Collaborates with peers in the development of a strong resort strategic plan
Demonstrate strong vision and execution in all elements of the resort as outlined by the strategic plan: from the day-to-day minutia to large capital projects
Empower team to drive the strategic vision with your oversight
Act as a guide, mentor and role model for all members of our team to ensure the processes, procedures and standards are consistently delivered
Pilot and guide the Front Office operations whilst overseeing all aspects of the Resort operations
Foster talent from within by creating effective succession planning
Identifies broadly impacting challenges, resolving and elevating
Conduct weekly inspections across all departments for cleanliness and maintenance and ensuring the preventative maintenance schedule is adhered to diligently
Actively pushing the financial outlook for the resort ensuring budgeted targets are met or exceeded
Nimbly reacting to challenges to business volumes that threaten budgeted targets through collaboration with all departments of the Resort and Support Services teams
Proactively manage budget and resources to meet business plan key performance indicators for guest experience, margin and financial improvements
Meet regularly with the Jasper Lodging Hotel Managers and Director of Operations
Acts as an ambassador for the Resort with our key business partners, developing new partnerships and fostering relationships for best business outcomes and community relations
Developing, implementing and maintaining superior standard operating procedures (e.g. safety, customer service, emergency procedures)
Lead communication during an incident and ensure emergency and first-aid response and documentation to accidents & incidents, both on and off property
Ensuring adherence of operations to Pursuit and Viad policies and procedures
Upholds the “Always Honest” values
What skills and experience do you need for this job?:
3-5 years’ experience participating strategically and operationally at a Management level
Post-Secondary diploma/degree in Hospitality Management or related discipline
Previous Management experience in resort settings
A leader in your field, your experience would preferably include a strong background in Front Office and extensive rooms division experience.
Highly motivated to drive positive change
An innovative thinker who provides solutions to ensure support of guest and employee needs
Proven team-builder with outstanding motivational skills and coaching ability
High degree of attention to detail and professionalism
Demonstrated commitment to finding new and better ways of working by applying learning, feedback and experience
