OPEN TO THE PUBLICThis is a Permanent Part-time (45%) position as a School Counsellor and Behaviour Resource Teacher at Montague Consolidated beginning the 2021-2022 school year. Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: • Applicants must have or be eligible to hold a PEI Teacher’s License; • Applicants must have an Inclusion Certificate and/or significant recent course work at the post graduate level in special education including exceptionalities or extensive experience in resource;• Applicants must have a Masters in Counselling, Counselling Psychology or a related discipline with a focus on counselling that includes graduate courses in five of the following areas: – communication and relationship skills – group counselling – career development – methods – learning and human development – psychological education – counselling interventions and strategies – multi-cultural counselling – counselling in specialized settings – counselling ethics • Methods courses in Literacy training;• Level B Assessment Training;• Experience at the K – 6 grade level;• Ability to work as part of a Guidance Team with school’s full-time counsellor , YSW and Behavioural Resource Teacher;• Commitment to working with families to support the best learning for students;• Knowledge and ability to reach out to outside agencies to support students;• Good classroom management skills, knowledge of effective teaching strategies and be able to demonstrate teamwork and collaborative practices;• Commitment to school community, demonstrate commitment to ongoing learning and must be able to facilitate communications with parents.The following would be considered assets: • Experience with EAL students and families;• Experience with combined classrooms.Note: Please ensure the application clearly demonstrates how you meet the noted qualifications as applicants will be screened based on the information provided.
