Student Wellness Coach
Four Positions Available
The Fort Vermilion School Division is hiring four full-time Student Wellness Coaches to work with
children and youth. These positions will be assigned as follows: one in High Level and area, one in Fort
Vermilion and Rocky Lane areas, and two in La Crete and area.
The Student Wellness Coaches will work within a collaborative team under the direction of the FVSD
Student Wellness Coordinator to provide group interventions as well as universal programs to help children
and youth develop the skills needed to self-protect their mental and emotional well-being. Working with
school staff to create villages of support for children and youth will be a major focus.
These full-time 10-month positions will work 35 hours per week (7 hours per day, 5 days per week)
starting on September 7, 2021.
Qualifications:
Ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications and characteristics:
A degree/diploma/certificate in Social Work/Psychology/Counseling/Child and Youth Care Work or
related health services field
Experience in child and family counseling
Experience working with small and large groups
Ability to establish rapport with students and their families
Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
Strong organizational and case management skills
A valid driver’s license
Knowledge of local cultures an asset
Knowledge of area schools and communities an asset
Evidence of successfully passing the required Police -Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC) and Children’s
Services- Intervention Record Check (IRC) if applicable. More Information and VSC / IRC Request

Salary Range & Work Year:
$26.25 to $37.95 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience
