Description
The role of a team lead is to act as a point of contact to the on-duty supervisor and or senior management team during designated shifts whereby there is no duty supervisor or manager in a particular location.
Hours:
- Start date: To be determined
- 40 hours per week, Team Lead/Sales Associate/Warehouse
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Communicate with the on duty supervisor and senior management
- Communicate staffing shortages or concerns
- Calls management for direction for out of ordinary situations
- Resolves or redirects customer complaints
- Has access to computer to forward documents as requested
- Answers the telephone and responds and forward messages
- Processes raw materials by unloading, sorting, packing, storing, loading and bailing the donations; protects the integrity of the donations
- Selects donations or store distribution meeting established standards of quality and distinguishing between discarded and good quality merchandise according to company standards
- Meets assigned daily targets; counts weighs and records incoming and outgoing donations
- Complies with all safety procedures and in/outdoor tidy maintenance guidelines
- Operates warehouse equipment such as baler, compactor, forklift, and conveyor
- Performs other duties as assigned
Note: Not all incumbents perform all of the duties described above but perform a similar range of duties.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Certifications:
- Current certification in First Aid/CPR is considered an asset
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- To be willing to adapt to changes and interruptions in your normal work routine
- The ability to maintain confidentiality with regards to information relating to employment
- A willingness to work with individuals or groups of differing backgrounds and cultures other than your own
- A willingness to adhere to a dress code of neatness and cleanliness
- An understanding of and support for the Mission Statement of The Salvation Army in Canada
