Description
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for the day to day processing of Accounts Payable/Receivable, Resident account activities within the Financial Policies and Procedures for the facility, general reception duties and supports the administrative needs of the Grace Manor, Specifically the Finance and Human Relations departments as directed.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain resident accounts
- Prepare invoices, collect payments, record transactions, submit to RAC and reconcile on a regular basis
- Liaise with residents or their representatives, responds to inquiries, ensure payment of charges and issue allowances
- Administer cash receipts and disbursements of Resident’s Trust Accounts and maintain Trust accounts petty cash, reconciling monthly with Business World (Agresso) and Point Click Care
- Process all invoices
- Ensure that all invoices are checked against delivery of goods and services
- Maintain financial filing system
- Process donations and issue receipts
- Assists as needed with financial reports and survey
- Variety of reception and clerical duties such as operation of telephone switchboard
- Receiving visitors and providing routine information/directions
- Filing, data entry, updating resident emergency evacuation procedures/list
- Photocopying and faxing
- Providing support to the Finance and Human Relations departments as directed
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Certifications:
- Community college certificate in Business Administration
Experience:
- Two years of experience in accounting (healthcare setting) or equivalent
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Demonstrated familiarity with Ulti Pro software considered a strong asset
- Experience in unionized environment and following Collective Agreements
- Computer proficiency, MS office applications (Word, Excel etc.)
- Professional demeanor with excellent customer service and communication skills
- Honest, reliable and tactful with superior attention to detail
Successful candidate will be required to provide upon hiring:
- A clear vulnerable sector screening
- Participate in our online Armatus Abuse Training and Health and Safety training required upon hiring, as well as updated annually
HOURS: 40 hours per week. Monday to Friday 9-5, occasional weekend may be required
