Utility Operator
Under the supervision of the Foreman, the Utility Operator performs and is responsible for the following duties:
- Operates Town of Princeton equipment including: trucks (water, service, backhoe and loader, mowers and various pick-up trucks).
- Assists in the installation, maintenance and repairs within water, sewer, and road systems.
- Assists with the care and maintenance of parks and cemetery.
- Operates various power tools and equipment while working in the water, sewer, and road systems and parks and cemetery.
- Assists with minor equipment maintenance and repair under the guidance of the mechanic/welder.
- Water Pump and PRV maintenance experience.
- Performs other duties as required.
The ideal candidate would possess:
- Minimum grade 12.
- Class 5 driver’s license with air endorsement.
- 5 or more full time years’ experience and proficiency in operation of municipal equipment and fleet (e.g. single and/or tandem dump, grader, backhoe, loader, rider mowers, etc).
- Experience and proficiency in water, sewer and roads systems and parks maintenance.
- EOCP Certification for Water Distribution System Level 1 and Waste Water Collection System Level 1.
This position is regular full time. Current CUPE rate of pay $31.52/hour.
