Description
This position provides administrative assistance to the Corp team. This includes reception and general office needs, scheduling meetings, and record keeping. As well, this position will assist the community ministries team.
Successful candidates must meet the application requirements for the Canada Summer Jobs
DAYS and HOURS of work:
- Required availability Monday to Saturday from 9:00am to 5:00pm. 37.5 hours/week
- Position is temporary; commencing Monday July 5th, 2021 and ending Friday August 27th, 2021
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Welcome visitors, answer and direct phone calls as necessary.
- Process mail; direct congressional member inquiries to the appropriate Corp team member
- Monitor office supplies, order and pick up as needed
- Prepare correspondence and other documents as required; and offer Administrative support
- Maintain corps files, record keeping databases and spreadsheets according to The Salvation Army procedure
- Assist in the organization, maintain and general cleanliness of the food bank and family services area.
- Receives (and/or declines) and sorts/organizes non-monetary donations.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
*NOTE: For some jobs, you may be required to provide validated educational documentation.
Education/Certifications:
- Some high school
Experience:
- Office or customer service experience an asset, but not mandatory
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Math skills
- Problem solving skills a must
Successful candidates, prior to hiring, may be required to provide:
- Background check consent
- A clear vulnerable sector screening
- A clean drivers abstract
- Completion of our online Armatus Abuse Training and required Health and Safety training
