Position Purpose Summary:
Assist in the operation of the Community and Family Services at The Salvation Army Swift Current Community Church.
This job is part of the Canada Summer Jobs program.
This is a full time fixed-term position at 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Term Dates: November 1 – December 24, 2021.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with packing and distribution of Christmas Hampers (food and toy)
- Assist clients with Christmas hamper applications
- Assist with data entry of Christmas hamper applications
- Assist with regular food bank operations
- Receive and organize non-monetary donations
- Assist with client intake and interviews
- Answer and direct phone calls
- Schedule and book food bank appointments
- Assist with the packing and distribution of food hampers
- Other duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
*NOTE: You may be required to provide validated educational documentation.
Education/Certifications:
- Be between the ages of 15 and 30 years old (as per Canada Summer Jobs funding agreement)
- Successful Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check
Experience:
- No prior experience necessary
Required Skills/Knowledge:
- Valid driver’s license is an asset but not required
- Ability to safely lift 40lbs
